Hugh has a wealth of cricketing experience from grassroots to county pathways and the professional game. With a strong work ethic and passion for player development, Hugh’s commitment is to create a positive learning environment which encourages players to challenge and express themselves, improving techniques and skill level to the highest standard possible. Above all else, he is dedicated to sharing and instilling a love of the game to all he works with.

A BIT ABOUT ME
Hugh Bernard
Hi I'm Hugh! I was born and raised in and around Canterbury, Kent but am now extremely lucky to call this stretch of the south coast home. I was fortunate enough to represent England at U19 level and play professionally at Kent County Cricket Club. As a right arm seam bowler, I took my career best figures of 5-14 in Australia for the U19's before making my First Class and List A debut's for Kent in 2016 and 2017 respectively. I am a ECB Coach Developer and hold the ECB Advanced Coach (Level 3). I have experience coaching across various environments, from schools and Disability Cricket, to County Pathways and Academies. Currently I work within The Southern Vipers Academy and Emerging Player Programme as well as Hampshire and Dorsets Cricket's Talent Pathway, recently holding the position of Head of Talent Pathway at Dorset Cricket. I bring my friendly, personable approach coupled with knowledge and recent experiences from the professional game and look forward to sharing them with you!

1-2-1 COACHING SESSIONS
HRB Cricket Coaching offers bespoke 1-2-1 coaching sessions covering all discipline's of the game, whilst tailoring the sessions to enhance the players specific needs. By using video analysis, players are initially profiled and then monitored periodically to measure development.

£50 per hour session*
*Please note for Winter 1-2-1 sessions an additional fee will incur to cover facility hire costs. Our preference for facilities is either The Dorset Cricket Centre or an appropriate facility of your choice (client to book) . Please note that for journeys over 15 miles, a £0.40p per mile travel charge will incur along with all hire fees for the facility. Payment for sessions must be made prior to all sessions.
I had the pleasure of playing with Hugh from a young age and was always impressed by his work ethic and the precision of his training. He wasn't picked up early like a lot of young players, but had to work his way into the Kent ranks and I feel this gave him a resilience which stood out from the rest. I have no doubt he'll bring all of these attributes into his coaching, along with his obvious cricket knowledge that he would have in abundance from playing the pro game.
